Introducing the gauge 2 model railroad layouts!
Gauge 2m (G): Amarillo Mountain Rail Road – USA layout
The newest addition to the LGB friends from the Lower Rhine is the Amarillo Mountain Rail Road (AMRR) segment layout! The installation shows motifs that were typical for us Europeans in the 1950s. In addition to Mount Rusmore and Red Rocks, you can also see the striking fire escapes of New York’s old town. The tracks allow the use of long trains with huge steam locomotives, such as the Bigboy!

Gauge 2m (G): North German lowlands with peat extraction
Three trains run on the oval in different directions, two of which automatically separate at the station. The peat extraction is supplied and disposed of by a Regner field railroad in shuttle operation as in the 60s/70s. In the depot, a steam locomotive shuttles from the engine shed to the coaling station and back. Almost all of the buildings were built by the locomotive builder, the station has a fully equipped delicatessen store and a station coffee shop, a soccer pitch, camping site and wild nature are also part of the layout.
Digital operation is used. Operator: Friends of LGB Northern Germany, D- 21035 Hamburg Layout size: 10 x 4 m
Gauge 2m (G): Eifel layout – light railroad in the 50s
The former record layout of the late Franz Stellmaszyk was rebuilt, restored and digitized by the club LGB-Freunde Niederrhein!
On display, among other things, is a light railroad as it was once found in lava mining in the Eifel under the motto “from the workshop to the volcanic quarry” the very normal life and work in the middle of the last century. True to detail with the smallest details recreates the working world in a lava pit.
